Slag Dryer
A slag dryer also called the slag drying machine or slag dryer machine. It is used in the drying of materials containing high moisture and large particles like limestone, silica sand, slag, river sand, clay, sludge, and slurry. It is developed from a rotary drum dryer.
Slag dryer working principle
The wet slag is transferred through the use of conveyor a belt into the hopper. Through the feeding pipe, the slag is then sent into the feed end. Since the feed hopper connected directly to the drying cylinder, the wet slag is transferred to the drying drum through the use of the feed hopper. Once in the drying drum, the slag is heated by the hot gas available in it. This is the beginning of the slag dying process.
Well, the slag dying process can be divided into three major parts
- Heating of the wet raw slag in the rotary drum dryer. The hot air heats the wet slag causing the moisture contained in it to evaporate.
- Enhanced drying of the slag inside the dryer. The presence of lifting boards welded onto the inner walls of the rotating drum; make the slag to move forward and at the same time making it move up and down. In the process, the wet slag being in contact with the hot air is sufficiently dried. As a result, the slag drying speed is greatly enhanced.
- Clogging prevention. The presence of special cleaning devices inside the rotary drum dryer plays a significant role in getting rid of adhesive materials and the caking on the inside of the drying drum. As a result, clogging of slag is prevented.
What else materials can slag dryer process?
Features of a slag dryer
- The drying time is short
- Its drying ability is strong.
- The structure of the machine is simple and very reasonable. It requires a small floor area, the construction is very easy and maintenance easy as well.
- Power loss and wear and substantially reduced since the rolling ring and the roller are in a linear contact all the time.
A slag dryer is a machine that plays a significant part in the drying of material containing large granules and high moisture content. The machine is designed in such a way that it can handle large quantities of materials, has a high thermal efficiency and the dying cost is significantly reduced.
